Betso Charity Foundation Distributes NEDC Food Relief Across Mubi Communities, June 17, 2026
In a remarkable demonstration of partnership and compassion, Betso Charity Foundation (BCF) successfully carried out a large-scale food distribution outreach across communities in Mubi Local Government Area, Adamawa State, providing much-needed relief to vulnerable households affected by economic hardship and food insecurity.
The outreach was made possible through the generous donation of food items by the North East Development Commission (NEDC), while Betso Charity Foundation coordinated, managed, and implemented the entire field distribution exercise to ensure the relief reached those who needed it most.
A Partnership for Community Impact
Food insecurity continues to affect thousands of families across Northeast Nigeria as rising living costs and economic challenges make it increasingly difficult for vulnerable households to afford basic meals.
Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) provided essential food supplies to support humanitarian efforts, and Betso Charity Foundation took on the responsibility of delivering these resources directly to communities through a well-organized and transparent outreach programme.
Working together, both organizations demonstrated how strategic partnerships can create meaningful change and improve the lives of vulnerable populations.
Respecting Community Leadership
Before commencing the distribution exercise, the Betso Charity Foundation team paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of the community to seek his blessings and formally introduce the humanitarian intervention.
The royal endorsement played an important role in fostering trust, promoting community participation, and ensuring that the outreach was conducted peacefully and efficiently. This respectful engagement with traditional leadership reflects BCF’s commitment to working collaboratively with local institutions in every community it serves.
Reaching Those Who Need Support Most
The food distribution exercise was implemented in two phases to maximize coverage across Mubi LGA.
The first phase took place in Mayo Bani Village, where beneficiaries received food packages containing premium rice and spaghetti. Priority was given to widows, women, mothers, elderly people, and low-income households who continue to face significant economic challenges.
To ensure that no vulnerable family was left behind, the outreach extended to Betso Village, a remote rural community where access to food and essential services remains limited. Despite transportation and logistical challenges, the BCF team successfully delivered the donated food items directly to families in need.
Delivering Relief, Restoring Hope
The outreach had an immediate positive impact on hundreds of households, helping families secure nutritious meals while easing the financial burden caused by rising food prices.
Beyond the food itself, the programme strengthened community confidence in humanitarian initiatives and demonstrated the value of collaboration between development institutions and grassroots organizations.
